The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a busy manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically biased engineer who enjoys fault finding, problem solving, and keeping production running within a fast-paced environment.
Working as part of a skilled engineering team, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving site performance, ensuring machinery reliability and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have experience within FMCG, food & drink, packaging, or another fast-paced manufacturing environment, although engineers from other process-driven sectors with strong electrical and mechanical skills will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across production machinery
- Fault find on PLC-controlled systems, sensors, motors, drives and automation equipment
- Support production teams to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability
- Complete machinery upgrades, improvements and installation projects
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and effectively
- Contribute to continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Strong electrical maintenance experience with a multi-skilled background
- Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / equivalent)
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to fault find on electrical control systems and machinery
- Mechanical maintenance capability including conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics and general machinery
- A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
Experience within food & drink manufacturing would be highly desirable, but engineers from FMCG, packaging, pharmaceutical, chemical, automotive or other process manufacturing sectors are encouraged to apply.
