The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a busy manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically biased engineer who enjoys fault finding, problem solving, and keeping production running within a fast-paced environment.

Working as part of a skilled engineering team, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving site performance, ensuring machinery reliability and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have experience within FMCG, food & drink, packaging, or another fast-paced manufacturing environment, although engineers from other process-driven sectors with strong electrical and mechanical skills will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across production machinery
  • Fault find on PLC-controlled systems, sensors, motors, drives and automation equipment
  • Support production teams to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability
  • Complete machinery upgrades, improvements and installation projects
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and effectively
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Strong electrical maintenance experience with a multi-skilled background
  • Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / equivalent)
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to fault find on electrical control systems and machinery
  • Mechanical maintenance capability including conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics and general machinery
  • A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills

Experience within food & drink manufacturing would be highly desirable, but engineers from FMCG, packaging, pharmaceutical, chemical, automotive or other process manufacturing sectors are encouraged to apply.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer looking for a secure role, excellent earning potential and a shift pattern that provides a great work-life balance.
