What We’re Looking For
- Time-served pipe welder
- Proven TIG and MMA (low hydrogen) experience (MIG beneficial)
- Able to weld wall thicknesses from 1mm to 32mm
- Experience producing welds subject to NDT and destructive testing
- Confident reading engineering drawings & technical documentation
- Strong attention to detail & commitment to high standards
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and safety focused
- Full UK driving licence & right to work in the UK
- Valid or expired welding coding accepted
Desirable (not essential):
- Level 2/3 Welding or Fabrication apprenticeship
- CCNSG Safety Passport
- Forklift licence
The Role
You’ll carry out coded welding to ASME or EN standards on pressure pipework, vessels, and associated fabrications in both carbon steel and stainless steel.
Main Welding Processes
- TIG root & hot pass
- MMA (low hydrogen) fill & cap
- TIG cap where required to meet WPS
Key Responsibilities
- Welding from small bore (<2″) to large bore (up to 32″) heavy wall pipe
- Fabrication, installation & modification of commercial and process pipework
- Working in all positions to tight tolerances
- Producing welds to radiographic standards
- Reading and interpreting drawings & weld symbols
- Supporting installation and modification of industrial pipeline systems
- Maintaining high housekeeping & H&S standards
- Mentoring junior welders when needed
- Confident using finance systems and Excel
